BOAT HOUSE started in 2000. We began with a showroom and from time to time we had a sales counter in department stores to promote our products. We build miniature sail boats in classic and modern designs. Our models vary in size from 30cm up to a size depending on customers’ requests (which are about 1.5 metres in length). With my educational background in economics, I performed a market research regarding hobby products such as miniature boats, before I launched the company with my idea. I’m the only one in Bali who produces this kind of handicraft. The production process is very complicated and lavish, we have to construct the miniature piece by piece and then assemble the parts. Yet, the result is always a unique piece. We also offer miniature boats in a bottle; these can also be constructed according to customers’ request. Our customers are mainly end users, collectors, hobbyists and toursits. Some are also traders from other countries, home decorateurs or interior designers. Permanent customers are very important for my business. I always keep my customers updated via e-mail about new products and services.
